Frantz, 2016 – ★★★★★

A journey of friendship, love, grief and forgiveness.

It’s hard to understand how such a gently paced and elegant film can evoke such powerful emotions. A friend described it as elegiac and I couldn’t agree more.

The scale of the issues the characters deal with are shown to be both personal and societal. Frantz raises the eternal questions of how difference divides us, especially during times of conflict, and how easily we forget that we’re all just human after all.
