Belleville Baby, 2013 – ★★★★

It took me a while to adjust to the style of this film, what I was seeing seemed disconnected with the story being told. As I got more involved in the relationship between Mia and Vincent however I found the static imagery allowed me to really focus on the words. And in the end, I think I really liked it.

Would I recommend it? Not to everyone. You have to be prepared to be challenged; both by the style and content. This film wouldn’t be out of place as a video installation in an art gallery.
