I’m a sucker for Star Trek, and I won’t apologise for it.
I’m a child of the Next Generation era and as such I struggle with a captain like Kirk. Despite that, I enjoyed this film. I’ve seen it called Kirk’s story, but t’s not just about Kirk, it’s about the whole crew. What in the end makes Kirk a decent man and a good captain? His relationship with his crew of course.
For me Star Trek has always been about people and relationships. It’s about love, honour, friendship and loyalty. All of which are in evidence here, maki this not only a good film, but a great Star Trek film.
